BIO...grew up in Dodge City, Kansas. ...moved to Chicago, then to Lawrence, Kansas where he has cofounded Fresh Produce Art Collective, and DotDotDot ArtSpace, a gallery and and creativity forum sending out great sparks from a dusty stripmall in East Lawrence. Other occupations include playing bass guitar for Novalus, skating and filmed with the infamous K(F)C crew of rollerbladers
In the last two years Yuri has had solo exhibitions at DOTDOTDOT Artspace, the b gallery, Kansas Union Gallery, Stepford Gallery, Bourgeois Pig, Rock Gym (Boulder, Colorado), Club Kocka (Split, Croatia), Atelier PointPointPoint (Paris, FR)...
As well as organizing many group exhibitions with FPAC, Yuri curated "Naked Leftovers" a two-gallery exhibition of William Burroughs' art in Lawrence, KS and assisted in the curation and made collage in Royal Academy of Arts for Burroughs Live , exhibition curated by Jose Ferez Kuri about William Burroughs, (click for more info) a part of Collision Course, curated by David Thorp., now helping to plan a Burroughs exposition in Germany. Yuri is a member of The Basics Fund, a non-profit organization based in Colorado that gives health insurance to artists and help promote them.

Artist Description by Jeremy Stephenson : An artistic sponge. Yuri dabbles in almost everything, and I realize the word everything is using a broad brush. If I look at a scene and notice a few things, Yuri has probably absorbed 10 times that amount, finding patterns in the textures and colors in the details. I think he likes to experiment a bit with everything life has to offer. Yuri defines going with the flow, drifting through random sleeping cycles, floating through cities throughout the world, and creating different art with whatever tools are at his disposal. Paints, polaroids, canvases, microchips, metals, rollerblades, languages, and anything else that crosses his paths. Music pulses through his veins, his entire house lined with instruments originating from various cultures. He can play every single one of them. If this is starting to seem like one of those weirdo artist types who can’t relate to anybody, think again. He finds the chord to vibe on with the gallery owner, the rich guy, the poor guy, the hardcore rocker and the yoga instructor. Natural adapter with a restless curiosity. It’s like his brain works differently, he paints differently, he creates music differently, but still maintains a common thread with everybody he comes in contact with. Due to the skull slam, he can’t smell his own farts, and now wears a helmet [when he skates].
